Here's the Scoop....
Well, I was going to be off the rest of the week because my
mom was supposed to have her surgery. They postponed it until
May 28th. So you're stuck with me all week.
In case you missed the nooz... the latest person to be booted
off of American Idol is.... get this... David Archuleta's DAD!
Here's the info on the whole situation. A person who works for
"Idol" and spoke on condition of anonymity tells The Associated
Press Jeff Archuleta's backstage pass has been revoked. That
means he cannot be with 17-year-old David during rehearsals. The
source says Jeff Archuleta has caused concern for some time
because of his backstage involvement in David's performances.
Reports of similar concerns surfaced when David Archuleta was
on "Star Search." However, David's vocal coach, Dean Kaelin,
told The Early Show co-anchor Harry Smith this morning that he's
never seen Jeff Archuleta "be anything except a concerned,
caring parent."
"I've never seen him raise his voice to David or berate him,"
said Kaelin, who has worked with the Archuletas for about six
years. "So a lot of these rumors have been flying around for
the last several weeks seem totally ludicrous to me. He's not
this out-of-control dad that everyone imagines. He's really a
great guy. I've never had any problems with him. I've really
enjoyed our association and working with David as well."
The AP source said the thing that pushed producers over the edge
was a lyric change. Despite a warning, Jeff Archuleta had
insisted on altering the lyrics to "Stand By Me," which David sang
last week, by adding a verse from the Sean Kingston song "Beautiful
Girls." That meant "Idol" had to pay additional fees for the extra
song. Fox declined comment, and Jeff Archuleta could not be reached.

Nick Cannon Plans Family With Mariah...
Rapper/actor Nick Cannon is desperate to start a family with
his new wife Mariah Carey, according the star's half-brother.
Reuben Cannon says his newly-wed brother "definitely wants kids"
with Mariah and is excited about becoming a first time father.
He said, "I am not sure exactly if now is the time. Both of their
careers are crazy right now." And Reuben also claims Nick has
always loved Mariah - he has been a longtime fan of her music.
He adds, "He was a fan. He loves her more than any other girl."

Jake Gyllenhaal & Jessica Biel Pulled From Movie...
Jake Gyllenhaal and Jessica Biel walked off the set of
director David O. Russell's new movie 'Nailed' on Friday, after
producers failed to show they had enough money to pay its cast.
The Screen Actor's Guild (SAG) will keep all cast members from
the movie until the production company shows there is enough
money set aside in a union-mandated account.
An on-set source tells the New York Times production on the movie
is expected to resume this week.
It's not the first scandal to strike set of the movie, which was
co-written by Al Gore's daughter Kristin - veteran James Caan
quit his cameo role last month after a fight with Russell.
It seems Russell has a number of arguments with his stars.
George Clooney has said he would never work with him again and

Country Singer John Michael Montgomery In Rehab...
Country Singer John Michael Montgomery has reportedly checked
into a rehab treatment facility for substance abuse.
He has cancelled all concert dates and personal appearances
for the next 30 days to voluntarily submit himself to the
center to treat his severe anxiety attacks and sleep disorder,
his management company said on Friday.
In 2006, Montgomery was arrested on alcohol, drugs and weapons
charges. As part of a plea bargain, he acknowledged there was
sufficient evidence for a DUI conviction and the other charges
were dismissed.
In a statement, Montgomery says, "I will be disappearing for a
while to try and defeat the demons that have stripped me of my
energy of life and good health for so many years now. I assure
you that however long it may take, I'm gonna fight to the end
and come out stronger."
The 43-year-old is due to release an album on his own label in
September of this year.

Toni Braxton Delays Las Vegas Stage Return...
Toni Braxton's Las Vegas stage return has been delayed again
after the singer cancelled a string of shows last month due
to a prolonged illness.
The R+B singer, who has a heart condition, was set to return
to the stage last week, but has put off headlining her Toni
Braxton: Revealed show for at least another month, according
to reports.
Toni scrapped shows at the Flamingo Las Vegas in early April
after she was briefly hospitalized with chest pains.
The 40-year-old is said to be desperate to get back to the show
as her run at the Las Vegas venue is due to end in August of
this year. A representative for Grammy-winning Braxton refuses
to comment on her medical condition.

It's Carly Simon... Carly hung up on former boyfriend Cat
Stevens, who changed his name to Yusef Islam when he converted
to the Muslim faith in 1977. He had called Carly to wish her a
happy birthday but gave her his newly adopted title.
She recalls, "The voice said, 'Hello, Carly, this is Yusef
Islam.' And I said, 'I'm sorry, I don't know anyone by that
name' and hung up.

"He called back and said the same thing, so I hung up again.
Later in the day, he called again and this time he relinquished
his name and said, 'Carly, it's Cat Stevens.' And I said, 'Oh,
