Good Morning,
How y'all doin' today? Me? I'm doin' just fine. I spent the
day steam cleaning muddy dog slobber off the couch and loveseat,
washing all the dog bedding, and because I ust love to drive
myself crazy, I started steam cleaning carpets. I figure, by the
time I finish all the carpets, it will be time to start all over
again. Such is life in a house filled with Great Danes with feet
the size of Shaquille O'Neal...
Coco, aka Moose, has been a busy "little" girl showing all of
us her new trick...
Opening doors. She discovered her new talent last week and
once she mastered it, life around here hasn't been the same.
She barges in bedrooms, bathrooms, and any other room with a
door handle. I thought it was kinda cute, UNTIL I happened to
be out in the front and she decided it was a good time to
go outside for a walkabout and of course, let the rest of the
pack outside too...
She opened the heavy security door and the other three followed
right behind her. I didn't even hear the sneaks until she had
her head over my shoulder staring at the same flowers I was
staring at!
Mystic came right next to me and Keno and Ginger? POOF! GONE!
down the street in a flash. I quickly got Moose and Mystic back
in the house, LOCKED the door and headed down the driveway to
do the Great Dane rodeo round-up...
Interestingly, it went well for two reasons. Ginger won't go
anywhere without Moose and quickly figured her sister wasn't
with her and came back and Keno, who usually ends up a mile away
in a few seconds, came back on his own, sadly because he has a
hard time running these days and he has developed a limp in his
back legs. It broke my heart seeing him heading toward me and I
would have given anything to have him back to the way he used to
be, ignoring me and running like the wind all over the neighborhood...
Needless to say, the front screen door has to be locked at all times
now and anyone in the house that values their privacy in the bathroom
has learned to make sure the door is locked because nothing is as
shocking as sitting on the toilet and having a dog barge in and
staring you right in the face with the, "whatcha doin' look. The
first time it happened to me it scared the crap out of me...
Literally...
