                        QUOTE A DAY
"Words That Inspire, Provoke and Entertain"
                    Tuesday Dec. 11, 2007

Greetings fellow quote lovers:

Friends, I think I have recovered my bearings... and I
wanted to than all of you so much. I received so many
emails and it made me extremely humble to know that
dozens of you share QAD with students, fellow employees,
friends and family.

We never quite know how our lives touch others. While I
don't want to suggest I am a modern day George Bailey
from "It's A Wonderful Life", but we all touch more people
than we know and if we all could really see, this knowledge
could change each and every one of our lives.

There were many of you who shared how a special quote
helped you through a difficult time... how words of great
minds have impacted you other times. Sharing those stories
has had an impact on me and if QAD has helped even one of
you in a difficult time, or helped articulate a feeling
you have had, I am happy for that.

So, we will continue on this journey. We closed the 20th
Century together... we went through the Internet boom and
bust, went through 9-11 and I am sure the journey is not

Please know that each of you impact others around you in
ways you cannot imagine. I am forever grateful for you
sharing your stories with me.

You just have to see this to believe it!!!

     Monk Demonstrates Ancient Finger Technique

I had to watch this video several times to see if it was
believable. A 90-year-old Chinese monk does a one finer
'hand stand'. The only thing holding him up is his index
finger. Amazing!

Time is too slow for those who wait, too swift for those
who fear, too long for those who grieve, too short for
those who rejoice, but for those who love,
 time is eternity.
 --Henry Van Dyke

To be successful, you must decide exactly what you want
to accomplish, then resolve to pay the price to get it.
 -- Bunker Hunt

So let us regard this as settled: what is morally wrong
can never be advantageous, even when it enables you to
make some gain that you believe to be to your advantage.
The mere act of believing that some wrongful course of
action constitutes an advantage is pernicious.
 --Marcus Tullius Cicero (106-43 B.C.)

                 **--- MYSTERY QUOTE ---**

Prayer is not asking. It is a longing of the soul.

*---- More Quotes for the Week ----*

The dubiously named "war on terror" was lost the moment
the cabal of neo-conservatives usurped power in Washington,
descending like a flock of vultures from their warmongering
flight. At that moment delusion morphed with ideology,
ignorance fused with zealotry and the neo-con artist dream
of an Iraqi invasion, already having been trumpeted for
 years, was put in motion.
-- Manuel Valenzuela, from the essay, "The War of Error"

Give me the money that has been spent in war and I will
clothe every man, woman, and child in an attire of which
kings and queens will be proud. I will build a schoolhouse
in every valley over the whole earth. I will crown every

It [The New World Order] cannot happen without US
participation, as we are the most significant single
component. Yes, there will be a New World Order, and it
will force the United States to change it's perceptions.
--Henry Kissinger, World Affairs Council Press Conference,
Regent Beverly Wilshire Hotel, April 19th 1994

Prayer is not asking. It is a longing of the soul.
