Greetings Citizen:
We are a day late...please accept our apologies. But hope-
fully the wait will be worth it. The most interesting question
was:
Should any President be allowed to pick and choose which
parts of legislation they can follow?
This was one way of asking if the President is above the law.
We expected very few people to believe that. If any politician
can pick and choose which laws to follow, we would be headed
for dictatorship.
So, SHAME ON ANYONE WHO VOTED "YES".
Now, does the fact that we love democracy mean we are biased? Of
course we are biased against dictatorship. I doubt the folks
who said yes actually thought through the consequences of such
an opinion...but no person should be above the law...Kings set
themselves up like that...but the moment such actions are permissible
in a democracy, we embark upon the road to tyranny.
