Olivia Newton-John Marries
Olivia Newton-John married businessman John Easterling
during a private ceremony on June 21 in Cuzco, Peru,
followed a week later with a second ceremony in Jupiter,
Fla. However, she did not announce the wedding ceremonies
until Thursday (July 10) on her official Web site. It is
the second marriage for both. Easterling is the founder
and CEO of Amazon Herb Company, a Florida-based company
that sells botanical supplements from the rainforest in
South America. Newton-John had a string of Top 10 country
hits in the early 1970s and was named the CMA female
vocalist of the year in 1974.

Country Artists Join Jazz Musician Charlie Haden
Rosanne Cash, Vince Gill and Ricky Skaggs are among the
guests artists featured on an upcoming album by jazz
bassist, Charlie Haden. Ocean of Diamonds will be
released on Sept. 23 on Decca. Additional guests include
Russ Barenberg, Sam Bush, Elvis Costello, Jerry Douglas,
Stuart Duncan, Bela Fleck, Buddy Green, Bruce Hornsby,
John Leventhal, Bryan Sutton and Dan Tyminski, as well
as jazz guitarist Pat Metheny and actor Jack Black (who
is Haden's son-in-law). Haden, a member of the original
Ornette Coleman Quartet in the late 1950s, has also
worked with John Coltrane, Archie Shepp and Keith
Jarrett, among others.
