Randy Owen's Solo Album Due Nov. 11 on Indie Label
Randy Owen, the lead singer of Alabama, will release his
first solo album, One on One, on an independent label,
Broken Bow Records, on Nov. 11. The first single will be
released to country radio on June 11. Owen wrote or co-
wrote seven of the 11 songs on the album, which was pro-
duced by John Rich. Owen and his 10-piece band will head-
line the opening night of the BamaJam Music & Arts
Festival in Enterprise, Ala., on June 5. As a member of
Alabama, Owen formerly recorded for RCA Records.

Nashville Star Will Also Air on CMT
CMT has entered into an agreement with NBC to re-broad-
cast episodes of the sixth season of Nashville Star.
The music competition series will premiere on NBC on
June 9 at 9:30 p.m. ET/PT and then be re-telecast on
CMT, beginning June 14 at 4 p.m. ET/PT. Nashville Star
begins its regularly scheduled timeslot on CMT on June
20 at 8 p.m. ET/PT. Billy Ray Cyrus will host the show.
Singer-songwriters John Rich (of Big & Rich), Jewel and
Jeffrey Steele will serve as judges and mentors. The
winner will receive a major recording contract with
Warner Bros. Nashville and an opportunity to sing at
the Summer Olympic Games in Beijing.
