Gillett Evernham appoints diverse executive as CEO
By Official Release

STATESVILLE, N.C. - Gillett Evernham Motorsports on Tuesday
appointed Tom Reddin as its new chief executive officer
overseeing the organization's three Sprint Cup teams and
Nationwide team.

"This is another step in our plan toward build a winning
organization," co-owner Ray Evernham said. "Tom is a world-
class business executive who brings a wealth of experience
to Gillett Evernham Motorsports. His management style will
enable this organization to maximize its production off
the track so the competition side has the resources to win
races and contend for championships."

Gillett Evernham Motorsports began searching for a new CEO
last season with Evernham, co-owner George Gillett Jr.,
and president Rick Russell leading the search committee.

"We couldn't be happier with our selection," Gillett said.
"I feel fortunate we could find someone of Tom's experience,
expertise and passion to come lead our organization. The
fans in the stands might not see Tom's face at the track
but his performance is as vital as that of any team

Reddin's business background is a combination of consumer
packaged goods, e-commerce and technology experience gained
at Kraft Foods, CBS, Coca-Cola and LendingTree where he
ultimately served as chief executive officer.

Reddin was an early stage member of the LendingTree start-
up, joining the company from Coca-Cola in 1999, launching
the "When Banks Compete, You Win" campaign, and helping to
guide the company from a small private company to a public
company with more than $400 million in revenue and 2000
employees. The company was ultimately sold to
IAC/Interactive Corp.

"NASCAR is changing. These race teams now are top-flight
businesses that have to be as good off the track in the
business community as they are on the track," Reddin said.
I have grown and built businesses my entire career.

"To succeed in this sport in the coming years, you are
going to have to have a business plan that provides a
major win for your business partners, your drivers, and
your employees. Success will center on people, process
and technology. You have to excel in all three dimensions.

"This team already has some of the world's most recogniz-
able brands in business as partners. We need to maximize
those relationships as well as build new relationships.
The business practices that made LendingTree, Coca-Cola,
CBS and Kraft Foods successful are directly applicable to
the business of racing."

Reddin's experience also involved racing and NASCAR. His
love for motorsports began in childhood and continued when
he worked with the late Bobby Hamilton with Country Time
Lemonade in the late 80s and early 90s, and Coca-Cola's
NASCAR ties in the late 1990s.

"I caught the racing bug when I was younger, prepped my
own racecar and competed in several amateur road-racing
circuits. I understand the fundamentals of what it takes
to set up a racecar, and what a driver goes through when
the green flag drops," Reddin said. "But trust me, our
drivers -- Elliott Sadler, Kasey Kahne and Patrick
Carpentier -- don't have to worry about me taking their
seat behind the wheel. As a driving coach once told me
after I wrecked my racecar: 'Tom, you've got too much
foot, not enough talent.'

"We're playing to win at Gillett Evernham Motorsports.
Our plan is to significantly expand the scope of the
business, exceed our business partners' expectations,
and enjoy many trips back to Victory Lane as we chase
toward a championship."

Gillett Evernham Motorsports boasts partnership relation-
ships with Allstate, Auto Value/Bumper to Bumper, Best
Buy, Budweiser, Dodge, Siemens, Stanley, McDonald's,
Unilever and Valvoline.

Johnson to celebrate title with return to White House
By Official Release

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Reigning Cup Series champion Jimmie
Johnson will make a return visit Tuesday to Washington,
D.C., for a trip highlighted by a White House meeting
with President George W. Bush.

Johnson will join the president in the Oval Office for a
meeting and photo, a yearly tradition for whoever wins the
Sprint Cup Series championship.

"As an American, it's certainly an honor to visit the White
House," Johnson said. "I have been fortunate over the past
few years to have met with President Bush and been a guest
in the Oval Office -- which was amazing considering the
history that took place in that room. I know [Tuesday's]
visit will be another great experience."

After meeting with the president, Johnson will make a stop
on Capitol Hill to meet with both the Senate and House side
of the Capitol. First, Johnson will meet with Sen. Jon Kyl
(R-Arizona) and other Senate leadership, followed by a
visit to the House.

The day-long excursion will end with a visit with Speaker
Nancy Pelosi.

The trip to the nation's capitol has become a regular
activity for Johnson, who last season became the first
driver to win consecutive championships since 1998. This
will be Johnson's third visit to the White House. He
previously went as part of the top 10 in 2003 and again
in 2007 as a first-time champion.

The visit is part of a whirlwind week for Johnson.
After testing last week at Las Vegas Motor Speedway and
California Speedway, Johnson attended Super Bowl XLII
in Arizona and on Saturday night will compete in the
Budweiser Shootout at Daytona.

Robby Gordon to run Gillett Evernham engines, Dodges
Sides sign technical, manufacturing, marketing agreement
By Team Release

STATESVILLE, N.C. - Gillett Evernham Motorsports on Friday
announced a technical, manufacturing and marketing services
agreement with Robby Gordon Motorsports which will race
Dodges in the 2008 Sprint Cup season.

Gordon's team will use Gillett Evernham Motorsports Dodge
engines when practice begins next week at Daytona Inter-
national Speedway. BAM Racing and Petty Enterprises also
use Gillett Evernham Motorsports engines and receive
technical assistance.

"We pride ourselves on being a leader in technology,
innovation, and provider of top-flight equipment to other
Cup teams. This is another example of a team coming to us
for help in areas where we believe we excel," said co-owner
George Gillett Jr. "This is an agreement to help a fellow
Dodge team new to the family."

Gillett Evernham Motorsports fields cars for drivers Kasey
Kahne, Elliott Sadler and Patrick Carpentier in the Sprint
Cup Series as well as a Nationwide Series entry.

"I feel this agreement with Gillett Evernham Motorsports
helps make the learning curve of the [new car] little bit
easier to navigate," said Robby Gordon, owner of the team
whose 28th-place finish in owner points was the best of
any single-car team in 2007.

"I like what they have going on over there and I think both
organizations will benefit. As an owner I want to do what
is best for my employees and sponsors."

Gillett Evernham Motorsports co-owner Ray Evernham said he
has great respect for Gordon's accomplishments in 2007.

"Robby has been running as a single-car team the last few
years and that is a difficult task in our sport these
days," Evernham said. "We plan to work with Robby and his
team and pool some of the knowledge and make all of our
teams better."

Gordon's move to Dodge comes after one year with Ford.

"Robby made a difficult decision to do what he thought was
necessary to financially support and stabilize his race
team," said Doug Hervey, the North American operations
manager for Ford Racing Technology. "We were fully prepared
to continue our commitment with him this year, and had
plans to increase our level of engineering support before
he told us of this decision to partner up with Gillett
Evernham Motorsports.

As a manufacturer, we're disappointed to be losing him and
his team, but understand the difficulties of running a one-
car team in the sport today."

Gordon said the move was strictly to help increase his
team's stability.

"Ford has been very good to me, and this move is not a
reflection on our relationship at all," Gordon said. "Ford
was planning on supporting me, and even increasing its
engineering support for my program in 2008. However, I felt
that I needed to make this move to help put my team in a
more stable financial situation in terms of marketing and
sponsorship help."
