WEBMASTER TIP - No Cache
Note: In code examples I add a period after each left arrow
bracket so the code can be viewed in all e-mail programs. If
you copy and paste, be sure to remove the periods or it won't
work.
Question: I have a web page I update every day, sometimes
several times a day depending on what's happening. How can I
keep people from viewing a cached page instead of the latest
content?
Simon Says: Add this:
<.meta http-equiv="pragma" content="no-cache">
...to the HEAD section of your page. The only drawback is
that if it's a slow loading page because of heavy graphics,
it will be slow loading every time because the browser won't
be able to grab the graphics from cache, it will have to
download them anew every time.

COMPUTER TIPS - Change Scrollbar Width
There are a variety of reasons a person might want to change
the width of the scroll bars in the software applications.
If you have a reason or need for that, I've got the how-to
for you.
In Windows 98:
1) Right-click the desktop.
2) Select Properties from the pop-up menu.
3) Click the Appearance tab.
4) Under Item, select Scrollbar.
5) Adjust the Size using the up or down arrow.
6) Watch your change in the preview and click OK when you
have it like you want.
In Windows XP:
1) Right-click the desktop.
2) Select Properties from the pop-up menu.
3) Click the Appearance tab.
4) Click the Advanced button.
5) Under Item, select Scrollbar.
6) Adjust the Size using the up or down arrow.
7) Watch your change in the preview and click OK when you
have it like you want.
8) This returns you to the Display Properties. Click Apply.
It may take a few seconds for your computer to update the
settings. When it's finished you can close the Display
Properties dialog and your computer will be sporting newly
remodeled scrollbars. Wahoo!
