Greetings Laff Lovers,
A quick update...the picnic went off pretty well. There was
plenty of food and nobody got drunk, mostly because Clean
Laffs Joe left early and took his cooler full of beer with
him.
The only small hitch was the burgers. Instead of buying the
pre-made, frozen fat-burgers which invariably burst into
flame when they go on the grill (probably because of the
high percentage of sawdust and beef tallow in them) I
actually made the hamburgers myself.
Unfortunately I made them kind of small. Once some of the
fat cooked out of them they shrank almost to the size (and
shape) of a handball. They were like little grilled meat-
balls. They tasted good, there was just no way to eat them
other than sticking one on the end of a fork and dribbling
it with ketchup and mustard.
Oh, and the police showed up once, but other than that it
was a lot of fun.
