Here's the Scoop....
Many thanks to Jeanie for filling in for me the past couple
of days. I've been mostly working from home and taking my
mom to the doctor.
She scratched her good eye (the only one with vision) and
it quickly developed an infection. Luckily I got her to the
eye doctor right away. He said if we had waited until the
next day she may have lost her eye.
Now the problem is she has no vision at all. The doctors
all say it will return in the one eye but it takes time.
She was scheduled to have a cornea transplant in her other
eye but they postponed it until May to make sure there is
no infection left in the other eye.
It's been almost a week now and her vision still hasn't
returned. We are putting drops in every hour... Luckily
we don't have to all night. The first 24 hours we had
to do it all through the night.
I've been in the office sparingly, my sister-in-law and
brother have come over for a few hours a day so I can
get in to take care of meetings and things.
I will say my Mom is just amazing. She complains very
little.
I'll keep you posted... now let's get to the nooz.
Best,
Anisa

Kid Rock Causes Scene At A Waffle House...

for charity! Rock came to sign autographs for hundreds of fans

Robert De Niro Cleared of "Misleading" Insurers...
Robert De Niro has been cleared of withholding information
about his prostate cancer diagnosis from an insurance company.
Fireman's Fund Insurance Co. accused Robert of intentionally
withholding information about his diagnosis before they signed
a contract to insure the production of his 2003 movie 'Hide and
Seek'. The company claimed he wrongfully checked off a box
indicating he had "never been diagnosed with or treated for"
various conditions, including a diseased prostate, when he filled
out his medical certificate.
Insurers paid out $1.8 million to cover the cost of production
delays incurred when De Niro had to take time out for treatment.
But De Niro maintained he underwent a biopsy three days before
and received his diagnosis two days after he completed the
insurance documentation. He was cleared of misleading insurers
at a hearing on Tuesday. His attorney Robyn C. Crowther said in
a statement: "This ruling vindicates what we've said all along...
Mr. De Niro answered Fireman's Fund's questions truthfully and we
are pleased that the Court has found that Fireman's Fund can't sue
Mr. De Niro for getting cancer."

Say Hey... Billy?...
Billy Crystal is to mark his 60th birthday by becoming an active
player of the New York Yankees.
Billy, a lifelong baseball fan, is to wear the number 60 jersey
for the exhibition game between the Yankees and the Pittsburgh
Pirates this Thursday.
"I've been waiting 50 years for this call," said Crystal in
a statement.
The actor has been invited to the side's spring training camp but
had to first sign a one-day contract to play for the Bronx side,
which required the permission of Major League Baseball commissioner
Bud Selig.
"I'm overwhelmed by the generosity of the Yankees and commissioner
Selig," the frequent Oscars host added.
"I know this'll be tougher than the Broadway Softball League, but
I'm looking forward to helping the younger players - which, by
the way, is all of them."

*-*-* GUESS WHO *-*-*-
The filmmaker whi treated the audience to a free beer during a
screening of his latest film?
It's Morgan Spurlock... Morgan (filmmaker and star of SuperSize
Me), was treating viewers to a preview of new movie 'Where In The
World Is Osama Bin Laden?' at the South By Southwest film festival
in Austin, Texas on Monday night when the city's electricity
supply was temporarily lost. But quick-thinking Spurlock announced
he was going to buy the audience hundreds of Lone Star beers in a
bid to keep them there - but inferred it was movie giant The
Weinstein Company who would be footing the bill.
He told the crowd, "Don't thank me, these beers are brought to you
by Bob and Harvey Weinstein. They love you in Austin!"
