These steps will work for any item in your start menu that
you use frequently and want to make the icon easier to
access:
There are a couple of places you can put your icon for
easier access, on your desktop, or on your start menu.
Lets start with the easiest place, your desktop, and use the
Notepad icon as the example:
To copy the Notepad shortcut to your desktop, click on
"Start" and "Programs" (or "All Programs" if you are using
XP) then point to "Accessories" and then point to the "Note-
pad" icon.
Using your RIGHT mouse button, drag the notepad icon to your
desktop and when you release the right mouse button you will
see a few choices, click on "Copy Here" and you will put a
copy of the shortcut on your desktop.
Another place you can put the notepad icon is on your start
menu.
