Today's Deal of the Day ------------------------------------------------------------
Colts' Harrison still questionable for Monday's game Wide receiver Marvin Harrison, still nursing a bruised left knee, remains questionable for the Indianapolis Colts' Monday night game with Jacksonsville. Colts coach Tony Dungy said before Saturday's practice that Harrison's availability could be a game-time decision in the AFC South clash between the Colts (5-0) and Jaguars (4-1). Dungy said Saturday's practice would be "a good indicator" of whether the eight-time Pro Bowl selection will play in Monday's nationally televised game. "We'll see how much he can do," Dungy said. The 12-year NFL veteran has been nursing a bruised left knee since he was initially injured in the first quarter of the Colts' Sept. 30 win over Denver at the RCA Dome. Harrison has seen relatively light work the past two weeks. In addition to Harrison, who's listed as questionable for Monday, middle linebacker Gary Brackett may also be a game-time decision. Brackett suffered an abdominal (lower back) strain near the end of Thursday's practice. He was held out of Friday's workout as a precaution, but was able to get some work in on Saturday. "We kept him out (Friday), just precautionary. But he's feeling like he's going to play. And he probably should," Dungy said. Brackett, who's listed as questionable, isn't concerned about the injury and is confident that he will be in the starting lineup Monday night.
Former Packer WR, Super Bowl I hero Max McGee dies
Max McGee, the unexpected hero of the first Super Bowl and a long-time challenge for Hall of Fame coach Vince Lombardi, died Saturday after falling from the roof of his home, police confirmed. He was 75. Police were called to the former Green Bay receiver's Deephaven home around 5:20 p.m., Sgt. Chris Whiteside said. Efforts to resuscitate McGee were unsuccessful. McGee was blowing leaves off the roof when he fell, according to news reports. A phone message left at a number listed for an M. McGee wasn't immediately returned. "I just lost my best friend," former teammate Paul Hornung told the St. Paul Pioneer Press. "(His wife) Denise was away from the house. She'd warned him not to get up there. He shouldn't have been up there. He knew better than that." Inserted into Packers' lineup when Boyd Dowler was sidelined by a shoulder injury, McGee went on to catch the first touchdown pass in Super Bowl history in Green Bay's 35-10 victory over Kansas City in January 1967. Still hung over from a night on the town, McGee caught seven passes for 138 yards and two TDs. "Now he'll be the answer to one of the great trivia questions: Who scored the first touchdown in Super Bowl history?" Hornung said. "Vince knew he could count on him. ... He was a great athlete. He could do anything with his hands."

Broncos' Javon Walker may miss six weeks
Denver Broncos wide receiver Javon Walker could miss six weeks after undergoing surgery on his right knee, although coach Mike Shanahan said Friday he's hopeful it will be less. "I heard the doctor estimate it at six weeks. We'll get a better feel on it next week or so," Shanahan said. Walker, who missed the Broncos' last two games because of excessive swelling and pain, tore his ACL during the 2005 season-opener with the Green Bay Packers. He had two surgeries to repair the knee that season and needed a follow-up operation around the time he joined the Broncos in a draft-day trade in 2006. The Broncos could certainly use his big-play ability. They are 2-1 when he plays and 0-2 without him. Walker had 17 catches for 220 yards in the team's first two games before being held to just two catches and 10 yards against Jacksonville in Week 3. The Broncos also might be without shutdown cornerback Champ Bailey when they host Pittsburgh on Sunday night. Bailey returned to limited practice Friday after missing the rest of the week because of a right quadriceps strain.
