for Spring break, this is a must. The 6th Annual St. John
Blues Festival stars TAB BENOIT, CHUBBY CARRIER & THE BAYOU
SWAMP BAND, WAYLON THIBODEAUX and SEAN CARNEY. They will
blow your socks off!
The 2008 Coors Light St. John Blues Festival has been
dedicated to the Voice of the Wetlands to assist Tab
Benoit's efforts to put a stop to the dramatic and
constant loss of Louisiana's culture and heritage.
By redirecting the Mississippi River from it's natural
flow, south Louisiana's wetlands are being taken over
and destroyed by the stronger current of the Gulf of
Mexico at an alarming rate.
"The loss of south Louisiana's wetlands contributes to
the loss of our unique culture, our heritage, our wildlife,
our people and their livelihood" sadly stated Blues legend
and life long Louisiana wetlands resident Tab Benoit.
Louisiana's wetlands are inhabited and surrounded by life.
A life nurtured historically by the natural flow of the
Mississippi River, A life of millions of species of plants,
insects, animals and, most importantly, a life of people
and culture. A life that is in the process of being lost
forever.
And, it's not just Louisiana’s culture. It's America's
culture.
