Square D Recalls Safety Switches
Due to Shock or Electrocution Hazard
WASHINGTON, D.C. - The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Com-
mission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today
announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer
product. Consumers should stop using recalled products
immediately unless otherwise instructed.
Name of Product: General Duty Safety Switches.
Manufacturer: Square D Co., of Palatine, Ill.
Hazard: The safety switch can continue to supply electri-
city even after being placed in the “OFF” position. This
poses the risk of an electric shock or electrocution
hazard to consumers.
Incidents/Injuries: No incidents or injuries have been
reported.
Description: The recall includes General Duty 30 and 60
ampere, 240 volt, 1 phase and 3 phase NEMA 3R safety
switches. The switches are typically used to control the
flow of electricity to outdoor motorized units that are
hardwired to a household or business’ electrical system
such as outdoor air conditioning and heating (HVAC)
equipment. The switches contain “ON” and “OFF” positions.
The “OFF” position is designed to cut the flow of electri-
city to an outdoor motorized unit to protect the person
who is servicing the unit. The recalled switches have the
following date codes and catalog number printed on bottom
of the wiring label inside the front cover or on bottom
of the package label.

Sold at: Electrical distributors and retailers from
September 2006 through November 2006 for between $120
and $300.
Manufactured in: Mexico
Remedy: Consumers should return the uninstalled safety
switches to the retailer or distributor where purchased
for a free replacement unit. Installed safety switches
will be replaced free of charge by contacting the firm.

Remote-Control Helicopter Toys Recalled
Due to Burn Hazard
The following product safety recall was voluntarily con-
ducted by the firm in cooperation with the CPSC. Consumers
should stop using the product immediately unless otherwise
instructed.
Name of Product: Remote-Control Dragonfly King HX-242
Helicopter (also known as the Micro R/C Helicopter)
Manufacturer: ThinkGeek Inc., of Fairfax, Va.
Hazard: The helicopter battery can overheat and catch
fire, posing a burn hazard to consumers.
Incidents/Injuries: ThinkGeek has received five reports
of the battery overheating. No fires or injuries have
been reported.
Description: The recalled toy helicopters are remote-
controlled lightweight plastic toy helicopters. The
helicopter is sold with a control unit, a charger and
rechargeable batteries in the body of the toy. The
body of the helicopter measures about 13 inches in
length and the rotor diameter is about 10 inches. The
helicopter is yellow and red with green rotors. The
helicopter has a label on the front that reads
“Champion HX242 Electric Power Helicopter.”
Sold Exclusively: ThinkGeek.com Web site during November
2006 for about $40.
Manufactured in: China
Remedy: Consumers should immediately stop using the
recalled toy helicopters and contact ThinkGeek to
receive a refund or a replacement product.

Due to Lead Poisoning Hazard
The following product safety recall was voluntarily con-
ducted by the firm in cooperation with the CPSC. Consumers
should stop using the product immediately unless otherwise
instructed
Name of product: Gigantic Gemstone Ring
Distributor/Importer: Celebrate Express Inc., of Kirkland,
Wash.
Hazard: The recalled rings could contain high levels of
lead . Lead is toxic if ingested by young children and
can cause adverse health effects.
Incidents/Injuries: No injuries or incidents have been
reported.
Description: The recalled children’s Gigantic Gemstone
Ring toy is a silver-colored metallic ring with a large
plastic gemstone. The gemstone colors include: blue, red,
purple, green and clear. The rings were sold individually
and as part of various party favor, costume and heirloom
sets.
Sold at: Celebrate Express’ Birthday Express, Costume
Express and Storybook Heirloom Web sites and catalogs,
and at the Birthday Express retail outlet store located
in Kirkland, Wash. The recalled products were sold from
October 2003 through October 2006 for about $1.50.
Manufactured in: China
Remedy: Consumers should take the recalled party favors
away from children immediately and contact the company
for a refund. Celebrate Express has directly contacted
purchasers of the products by mail.
