Rebecca Lynn Howard, Jamie O'Neal
Sign With Independent Labels
Rebecca Lynn Howard and Jamie O'Neal have signed with
independent record deals, following their departure
from Nashville's major labels. Known for the 2002 hit,
"Forgive," Howard is now on the roster of Saguaro Road
Records. Her album, No Rules, is expected in June. The
roster also includes singer-songwriter Edwin McCain.
Meanwhile, O'Neal has signed with 1720 Entertainment
and will release a new single this summer, with an
album slated for fall. Rissi Palmer also records for
1720 Entertainment. During her tenures at Mercury
Nashville and Capitol Nashville, O'Neal's hits included
"There Is No Arizona," "When I Think About Angels" and
"Somebody's Hero."

Announced as Presenters for CMT Music Awards
The list of presenters has been announced for the 2008
CMT Music Awards, including Jason Aldean, Jewel, Josh
Turner, Miranda Lambert, Reba McEntire, comedian Rodney
Carrington, Sara Evans, Taylor Swift, the Eagles' Joe
Walsh and Timothy B. Schmit and actor Tim Daly (ABC's
Private Practice). Additional presenters include CMT
personalities Katie Cook (CMT Insider), Lance Smith
(Top 20 Countdown), along with Bobby Brown, John Rich
and Maureen McCormick (Gone Country), Tom Arnold (My
Big Redneck Wedding) and Naomi Judd and Rossi Morreale
(Can You Duet). Hosted by Billy Ray Cyrus and Miley
Cyrus, the show airs live from Nashville's Curb Event
Center at Belmont University on April 14 on CMT and
CMT.com.
