Greetings Bible Enthusiast!
Many readers have questions and concerns regarding prayer.
One concern is regarding hearing from God in prayer.
"Others 'hear' from God when they pray, but it never
seems to happen to me." "How many times have I heard others
say, 'God told me to do this,' and 'God told me that' but
He doesn't speak directly to me that way when I pray.
What am I doing wrong?"
If you are having these thoughts, remember that God speaks
to us many different ways. He uses evangelists, pastors,
and of course His Word, as well as the Spirit of God.
God does talk to you through the Bible, and perhaps what
you are praying about is already covered in His Word?
The Bible covers many principles that people pray about.
If your prayers are answered through the Word of God,
rather than through 'hearing,' another way, I encourage
you to read the parts of the gospel that deal with doubting
Thomas. There are parallels, although Thomas' doubt was
concerning the resurrection of our Lord, and not prayer.
