Recalls Potted Candles for Fire Hazard
The following product safety recall was voluntarily con-
ducted by the firm in cooperation with the CPSC. Consumers
should stop using the product immediately unless otherwise
instructed.
Name of Product: Toulon Potted Candles
Distributor: Ballard Designs Inc., of Atlanta, Ga.
Hazard: The packaging or holder can ignite, posing a fire
hazard to consumers.
Incidents/Injuries: None reported.
Description: This recall involves Toulon potted candles
that were sold individually and as a set. The larger,
citronella-scented single candles were sold in cream,
green and terracotta. Candles sold as a set include four
smaller candles with cream or green pots and were sold
in citronella and unscented. Item numbers involved in
the recall are AW058 (single) and AW057 (set). The pots
have a raised floral and garland design.
Sold at: Ballard Designs’ Web site and through its toll-
free number from May 2006 through June 2006 for about
$35 for set of four candles and $69 for the large candle.
Manufactured In: China
Remedy: Consumers should stop using these candles
immediately and discard them. Consumers should contact
Ballard Designs for instructions on how to receive a
full refund. Direct notices from Ballard Designs are
being sent to consumers with the recalled candles.

Dell Announces Recall of Notebook Computer Batteries
Due To Fire Hazard
WASHINGTON, D.C. – The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Com-
mission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today
announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer
product. Consumers should stop using recalled products
immediately unless otherwise instructed.
Name of Product: Dell-branded lithium-ion batteries made
with cells manufactured by Sony
Battery Distributor: Dell Inc., of Round Rock, Texas
Battery Cell Manufacturer: Sony Energy Devices Corp., of
Japan.
Hazard: These lithium-ion batteries can overheat, posing
a fire hazard to consumers.
Incidents/Injuries: Dell has received six reports of
batteries overheating, resulting in property damage to
furniture and personal effects. No injuries have been
reported.
Description: The recalled batteries were sold with or sold
separately to be used with the following Dell notebook
computers:
Latitude™ D410, D500, D505, D510, D520, D600, D610, D620,
D800, D810;
Inspiron™ 6000, 8500, 8600, 9100, 9200, 9300, 500m, 510m,
600m, 6400, E1505, 700m, 710m, 9400, E1705;
Dell Precision™ M20, M60, M70 and M90 mobile workstations;
and XPS,™ XPS Gen2, XPS M170 and XPS M1710.
“Dell” and one of the following markings are printed on
the batteries: “Made in Japan,” “Made in China,” or
“Battery Cell Made in Japan Assembled in China.” The
identification number for each battery appears on a white
sticker.
Sold through: Dell’s Web site, phone and direct sales as
part of a service replacement program, and catalogs from
April 2004 through July 2006. The computers with these
batteries sold for between $500 and $2850 and individual
batteries sold for between $60 and $180.
Manufactured In: Japan and China
Remedy: Consumers should stop using these recalled batteries
immediately and contact Dell to receive a replacement battery.
Consumers can continue to use the notebook computers safely
by turning the system off, ejecting the battery, and using
the AC adapter and power cord to power the system until the
replacement battery is received.

Gotham Light Fixtures
Recalled Due to Risk of Falling Parts
The following product safety recall was voluntarily con-
ducted by the firm in cooperation with the CPSC. Consumers
should stop using the product immediately unless otherwise
instructed.
Name of Product: Gotham 8-inch APR/APRH Down Lighting
Fixtures
Manufacturer: Gotham Architectural Lighting division of
Acuity Lighting Group Inc., of Conyers, Ga.
Hazard: The reflector/trim pieces may not be properly
attached to each other. The lower portion of the reflector/
trim assembly could detach and fall from the ceiling strik-
ing consumers.
Incidents/Injuries: Acuity Lighting Group has received
three reports of the fixture’s reflector parts falling.
No injuries have been reported.
Description and Models: The recalled lighting fixtures
have clear, black, pewter, wheat, umber, gold or champagne
gold finishes on the trim. Only models APR incandescent
and APRH high-intensity discharge down lights with 8-inch
openings are included in this recall.
Sold at: Lighting and electrical supply distributors
between March 2005 and June 2006 for between $85 and
$220.
Assembled in: United States
Remedy: Gotham Lighting is directly contacting facility
managers and business owners to schedule an inspection
and free repair. Contact Gotham Lighting if you have not
been contacted yet.
