Greetings Citizen:
We delayed this issue because we are pleased to announce the
forums are back up. Also, we instituted a new feature called
"Remember me" so you don't have to fill out personal info each
time you visit the Polling Station.
Lastly, the Polling Station will soon be undergoing an editorial
change. After taking over from Henry, it has been a haul. I
started this journey with libertarian leanings and over time
have become more and more libertarian.
As we head to the 2008 elections, the powers-that-be here want
a less outspoken editor to steer the ship. I will be doing this
for a couple more issues and then turning the reigns over to
JB. A nice guy to be sure and you will enjoy his spirit.
I have one last thing to say about last issue's poll about Saddam
and 9-11. The Polling Station is not just an opinion poll, it is
an attitude poll. What I mean by this is that not ALL OPINIONS
are really opinions at all. Can one have an opinion that 1+2=3?
Of course it is nonsensical. But if you wanted to gauge the ability
of people to do simple math, one could ask, "Does 1+1=3?"
Those people who answered that there was a connection to Saddam and
9-11 are simply wrong. They are as wrong as saying 1+1=3. This is
America and I will defend peoples' right to be wrong. Folks, Saddam
had NOTHING to do with 9-11. This is not an opinion, it is a
statement of fact. For those uncomfortable with the facts, I
am sorry.
