Quiksilver Recalls Children’s Lounge Pants
Due to Burn Hazard
WASHINGTON, D.C. – The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Com-
mission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today
announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer
product. Consumers should stop using recalled products
immediately unless otherwise instructed.
Name of Product: Quiksilver and Roxy Girl lounge pants
Distributors: Quiksilver Inc., of Huntington Beach, Calif.
Hazard: These lounge pants fail to meet the children’s
sleepwear flammability standards, posing a risk of burn
injury to children, due to the possible ignition of the
garment. These garments were not labeled or marketed as
sleepwear, but because they are children’s loungewear,
they must meet the children’s sleepwear flammability
standards.
Accidents/Injuries: None reported.
Description and Models: The recalled loungewear was sold
in girls and boys sizes 7 through 14 in plaid, camouflage,
floral and heart print patterns with elastic or drawstring
waistbands. Girls’ items are labeled “ROXY GIRL” and boys’
items are labeled “QUIKSILVER”. For specific information
on which models are included in this recall, consumers
should contact the firm.
Sold in: Surf and skate shops, specialty stores, and
department stores nationwide including Macy’s, McCalou’s,
Nordstrom, Nordstrom Rack, Quiksilver and Roxy retail
stores and outlets, from September 2003 through January
2006 for between $20 and $50.
Manufactured In: USA, India and Macao
Remedy: Parents should stop their children from wearing the
recalled lounge pants immediately and return them to the
place of purchase for a refund. If consumers are unable to
return their recalled item back to the place of purchase,
they should contact the firm.

J.C. Penney Recalls Lamps For Fire Hazard
WASHINGTON, D.C. – The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Com-
mission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today
announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer
product. Consumers should stop using recalled products
immediately unless otherwise instructed.
Name of Product: Crazy Daisy 3-in-1 Electronic Motion
Shade Lamps
Importer: J.C. Penney Corporation Inc., of Plano, Texas
Hazard: The lamp’s electrical circuit board can spark and
overheat due to an electrical problem, posing a fire hazard
to consumers.
Incidents/Injuries: J.C. Penney has received one report of
the electric circuit board overheating and melting the
wires in a lamp. No injuries have been reported.
Description and Models: The recalled lamps have a four-way
switch that allows the lamp to function as a moving light
so that patterns revolve around the shade. The lamps can
be used as a basic lamp or as a night light with glowing
stripe or floral patterns. The lamp shade is plastic and
the finish on the base of the lamp is brushed steel.
Sold at: Exclusively at J.C. Penney’s stores nationwide,
its catalog and its Web site from June 2005 through March
2006 for about $30.
Manufactured In: China
Remedy: Consumers should immediately stop using the recall-
ed lamps and return them to any J.C. Penney store for a full
refund. Lamps purchased through a catalog or through the Web
site may be returned to the nearest J.C. Penney store with a
catalog desk.

ElectroPlasma Lamps Sold at Spencer Gifts Stores
Recalled for Fire Hazard
WASHINGTON, D.C. – The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Com-
mission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today
announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer
product. Consumers should stop using recalled products
immediately unless otherwise instructed.
Name of Product: Mars Lightning ElectroPlasma Lamps
Retailer: Spencer Gifts LLC, of Egg Harbor Township, N.J.
Hazard: Arcing between an object and the removable cover of
the lamp can pose a fire hazard.
Incidents/Injuries: Spencer Gifts has experienced two fire
incidents at two of their stores. One of these fires caused
fire, smoke, and water damage.
Description: The recall involves the Mars Lightning 7001
dome electroplasma lamp, which simulates lightning bolts
inside. It has a glass dome glued to a black base. Writing
under the base includes the SKU number of 00473421,
“MARS LIGHTNING7001” and “LIGHTNING 2000.”
Sold at: Spencer Gifts stores exclusively nationwide dur-
ing December 2004 for about $30.
Manufactured In: China
Remedy: Consumers should immediately stop using the product
and return it to any Spencer Gifts for a store credit.
