          LIVING GREEN - Thursday, April 24, 2008
-----------------------------------------------------------

Good morning,

I am sure you have noticed the weather warming up, and that
means insects. Probably the most prolific insect in the
world is the ant. Scientists estimate that there are one
quadrillion (that is 1,000,000,000,000,000) ants living on
the earth at any given time. So you know you have them in
your own yard.

If your ant neighbors try to make themselves house guests,
try a couple of these natural, non-toxic remedies before
heading to the store for cans full of poison.

Thanks for reading,

* Pour lemon juice around areas ants frequent.

* Sprinkle cinnamon in affected areas. Cinnamon is very
effective, but must be reapplied to continue to work.

* Baking soda can deter ants - pour a solid line in areas
of activity and they won't cross it. Of course, just like
cinnamon, any dry powder must be reapplied.
