Olympus Expands March Recall
Overheating Infinity Film Cameras
WASHINGTON, D.C. - The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commis-
sion, in cooperation with the manufacturer named below, to-
day announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer
product. Consumers should immediately contact the Company
for refund or replacement.
Note: Olympus is adding two camera models to their March
2006 recall
Name of Product: Various Olympus-Brand 35mm Film Cameras
Units: About 1.2 million (24,000 additional cameras)
Manufacturer: Olympus Imaging America Inc., of Center
Valley, Pa.
Hazard: A defect with the flash circuit in these cameras
can cause it to smoke and overheat when the camera is
turned on. This poses a possible burn hazard to consumers.
Incidents/Injuries: Olympus Imaging America Inc. has
received 21 reports of camera or flash circuitry overheat-
ing in the U.S. with no reports of injuries.
Description: The original recall announced March 14, 2006
included the Infinity Twin, AF-1 Twin, Infinity Zoom 200
series, AZ 200 series, and Quantary Infinity Zoom 222
Olympus-brand 35mm film cameras. Olympus has now added
the Infinity Zoom 76 and the Promaster Infinity Twin model
cameras to the recall. The model name is printed on the
face of the camera. These cameras have a built-in flash.
Sold at: Department, electronic and camera stores, and
mail-order retailers nationwide from January 1989 through
December 1995 for between $220 and $365.
Manufactured in: Japan
Remedy: Consumers should stop using these cameras and
contact Olympus for information on receiving a free
repair or, if necessary, replacement.

Sold at Longs Drug Stores for Lead Hazard
WASHINGTON, D.C. – The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Com-
mission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today
announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer
product. Consumers should stop using recalled products
immediately unless otherwise instructed.
Name of Product: 9-Foot Patio Umbrellas
Importer: Atico International USA Inc., of Ft. Lauderdale,
Fla.
Manufacturer: Zhejiang Nengfu Tourist Products Co., Ltd,
China
Hazard: The umbrella poles contain paint with excessive
levels of lead, which can cause adverse health effects if
ingested by young children.
Incidents/Injuries: None reported.
Description: These patio umbrellas have an opening size
of 9-feet wide by 94.5-inches high. They are sold in the
following solid colors: Tan, Red, Green, and Navy Blue.
Sold at: Longs Drug Stores nationwide from April 2006
through May 2006 for about $40.
Manufactured in: China
Remedy: Stop using these umbrellas immediately and return
it to the retailer for a full refund.

LeapFrog Recalls to Repair Children’s Activity Centers
Due to Arm Entrapment Hazard
WASHINGTON, D.C. - The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commis-
sion, in cooperation with the firm named below, today
announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer pro-
duct. Consumers should stop using recalled products
immediately unless otherwise instructed.
Name of Product: Learn-Around™ Playground Activity Center
Manufacturer: LeapFrog Enterprises Inc., of Emeryville,
Calif.
Hazard: A child’s arm can become caught in the activity
center’s plastic tube, posing a risk of injury to children.
Incidents/Injuries: LeapFrog has received 145 reports of
children’s arms becoming caught in the plastic tube,
resulting in 54 reports of minor scratches and bruises.
Description and Models: The Learn-Around Playground is a
multi-colored, plastic musical activity center for young
children ages 6 to 36 months. It includes a Slide and
Sing alphabet panel and a ball drop on the left side, a
Number Rock musical keyboard in the center, and a Flying
Rhymes airplane, pop-up LittleLeap, and “smart” book on
the right side. “Leap Frog Baby” is printed on the
activity center. Item number 10200 is written underneath
the activity table below “Made in China.”
Sold at: Department stores and toy stores nationwide, on
the Web site www.leapfrog.com, and other online retailers
from July 2005 through August 2006 for about $60.
Manufactured in: China
Remedy: Consumers should immediately take the recalled
activity center away from children and contact LeapFrog
for a free repair kit.

I'm Walking Here....
