Willie Nelson Brings Fourth of July Picnic Back to Texas
Willie Nelson's annual Fourth of July picnic will take
place at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater in Selma, Texas,
a community located approximately 60 miles south of Austin,
the Austin American-Statesman newspaper reports. Nelson
began his Fourth of July picnics in 1973 in Dripping
Springs, Texas. Last year, the event was staged in
Washington state, marking the only year it has taken place
outside Texas. Ray Price, Merle Haggard and David Allan Coe
are already confirmed to appear this year. Nelson, Price
and Haggard toured together in 2007 after releasing the
album, Last of the Breed.

Jason Michael Carroll Joins Carrie Underwood Tour
Carrie Underwood has chosen Jason Michael Carroll to
open a series of June concerts during her Carnival Ride
tour. Josh Turner, who has been Underwood's opening act
since the Carnival Ride tour launched on Feb. 18, will
complete his performance commitments on May 28 in Fresno,
Calif. Underwood, who has been juggling two different
tours, finishes up her co-headlining dates with Keith
Urban on April 26 in Lexington, Ky.
