"Tips To Help You In & Around Your Home"
October 5, 2007
-----------------------------------------------------------
Happy Monday Everyone,
Another subscriber is in need for help:
Hi, since youve had some hints on pests lately I was
wondering if you or another reader can help me. We are being
bothered by quite a few mice in the house. I have set traps
but not helping, and cant afford exterminator. our poor cat
cant keep up with them. Do the sonic repellers really work
or is there a better alternative? Please help Im desperate!!
Margaret
Margaret, mice have a natural aversion to mint, and will
generally avoid it. Plant it around the exterior of your
house as a deterrent as well as potting some around your
home. Not only will they keep mice away, but they’ll freshen
the air as well.
Of course, you can always use snap traps. Instead of using
peanut butter try using bacon or deli ham, this way the mouse
has to tug at the bait to remove it.
Readers, do you have any suggestions for Margaret and her problem?

Hint 1 from a subscriber:
PERSONAL EXPERIENCE: When moving into a new dwelling.
Get 2 boxes of those "roach hotels". Open the package and
split them apart so they are individual. Then, using a yard
stick or broom handle, etc, push them under the refrigerator
and you will never have roaches. Roaches breed mostly in
dark spots and under the refrigerator is most most
prevalent place for them.

Hint 2 from Michelle:
Put a couple cans of coffee grounds (not brewed) in a room
with a foul smell. This saved my freezer that had unplugged
while we were away and came back to a bunch of spoiled meat.
