Recalls Folding Picnic Tables
Due to Collapsing Hazard
WASHINGTON, D.C. – The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Com-
mission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today
announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer
product. Consumers should stop using recalled products
immediately unless otherwise instructed.
Name of Product: Folding Picnic Tables
Distributor: Atico International USA Inc., of Fort
Lauderdale, Fla.
Manufacturer: Ningbo Brothers Sports Products Co. Ltd, of
Zhejiang, China; Superson Furniture Products Co. Ltd., of
Zhejiang, China; and Taihou Yunfeng Electric Appliance Co.
Ltd., of Zhejiang, China.
Hazard: The legs on the picnic table can buckle or break
during use, causing the table to collapse or fold
unexpectedly.
Incidents/Injuries: The firm has received 26 reports of
the tables collapsing, including 18 reports of injuries
including a broken foot and muscle strains.
Description: The recalled picnic tables have a GREEN
plastic top, four GREEN plastic seats that are permanently
attached, and silver/steel aluminum legs. Model numbers
involved in this recall are W50B2268 and W50H0284. The
model numbers are located on the packaging.
Sold only at: Family Dollar, Rite-Aid, Kerr Drug, Happy
Harry’s, Mays, Community Distributors, Farmacias El Amal,
Eckerd, Snyder Drug, Navarro Discount Pharmacies, and
Duane Reade stores nationwide from January 2001 through
December 2005 for between $20 and $40.
Manufactured In: China
Remedy: Consumers should immediately stop using the picnic
tables and contact Atico for product verification and
product return instructions. Consumers who return their
table to Atico will receive a refund and up to $15 for
return shipping by U.S. ground.

Speed Buckle Harnesses
Used During Mountain and Rock Climbing
Recalled for Fall Hazard
WASHINGTON, D.C. – The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Com-
mission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today
announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer
product. Consumers should stop using recalled products
immediately unless otherwise instructed.
Name of Product: Speed Buckle Harnesses
Distributor: Black Diamond Equipment Ltd., of Salt Lake
City, Utah
Hazard: The harness could be threaded incorrectly. If
threaded incorrectly, the webbing will easily slip when
loaded. Incorrectly threaded buckles can loosen, which
could cause climbers to slip out of the harness and fall.
Incidents/Injuries: None reported
Description and Models: These Speed Buckle Harnesses were
sold under the following model names: Gym Speed, Focus
Speed, Momentum Speed, Vario Speed and Wiz Kid. The names
can be found on a tag sewn inside the waist belt of the
harnesses. The harnesses are various colors and were sold
individually. Only Black Diamond Equipment Speed Buckle
Harnesses with incorrectly threaded buckles are included
in this recall.
Sold at: Rock climbing and mountaineering specialty shops
nationwide from December 2005 through July 2006 for between
$40 and $75.
Manufactured In: Philippines
Remedy: Consumers should immediately stop using recalled
harnesses and contact the firm for a free replacement
harness.

Tu-Wire® Dimming Ballasts
Used With Compact Fluorescent Lights
Recalled for Shock Hazard
WASHINGTON, D.C. – The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Com-
mission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today
announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer
product. Consumers should stop using recalled products
immediately unless otherwise instructed.
Name of Product: Tu-Wire® ballasts used with dimmable
compact fluorescent lights
Manufacturer: Lutron Electronics Co. Inc., of Coopersburg,
Pa.
Hazard: These ballasts, if not properly grounded in
accordance with the National Electrical Code, can present
a risk of electric shock to persons who come in contact
with the ballast or with a light fixture that incorporates
the ballast, such as when a consumer changes a fluorescent
lamp bulb.
Incidents/Injuries: None reported
Description: The recalled ballast is used to dim compact
fluorescent lighting fixtures. The ballasts are not visible
once installed. The ballasts were included with light
fixtures sold under numerous brand names. Consumers should
not touch these fixtures, since they could pose a shock
hazard. The fixtures with these ballasts have a 120 VAC
application, the fixture housing is for a 26W or 32W four-
pin plug-in compact fluorescent lamp installed after July
1998. Most of the lights were sold for commercial use,
though some were sold for consumer use. This recall does
not involve light fixtures containing incandescent or
halogen lamps or fixtures with screw-in compact fluorescent
lamps or straight tube (linear) fluorescent lamps.
Sold by: Light fixture manufacturers, electrical dis-
tributors and electrical contractors nationwide from July
1998 through May 2006 for about $120.
Manufactured In: Puerto Rico
Remedy: Consumers should not touch these fixtures, since
they could pose a shock hazard. Consumers should contact
Lutron Electronics to arrange for free replacement of the
recalled ballasts.
