Welcome to another edition of Dead End.
Death has been in abundance this past week. We say goodbye to
Darrent Williams, corner back for the Denver Broncos, whose
life was tragically cut short on New Years Day. He was only 24
years old. Also this week in history we remember in 1919, the
death of our 26th United States President Theodore Roosevelt.

SADDAM HUSSEIN, PRESIDENT OF IRAQ, DEAD BY HANGING
The hanging of Saddam Hussein ended the life of one of the
most brutal tyrants in recent history. Sadam oppressed Iraq

ART WORLD'S, CRAIG HUGH SMYTH, DEAD AT 91
Art historian and conservationist Craig Hugh Smyth has died at
the age of 91 in Englewood, N.J., of a heart attack. Smyth led
one of the very first art conservation projects in the United
States when he was the director of the Institute of Fine Arts
at New York University in 1960, The New York Times reported.
Before that he worked for the Navy recovering stolen art. At
the end of World War II Smyth was made director of the Munich
Central Collecting Point, set up by the Allies for returning
art and cultural relics confiscated by the Nazis.

DARRENT WILLIAMS, BRONCOS CORNERBACK, DEAD AT 24
Denver police said the shooting death of Broncos cornerback
Darrent Williams may have been related to an altercation at
a nightclub. In the 2005 NFL Draft, Williams was selected by
the Denver Broncos in the second round (56th overall). He
recorded his first career interception on November 13, 2005
versus the Oakland Raiders. Williams, died when shots were
fired into a limousine carrying the cornerback and several
other passengers. Police said they were investigating whether
the shooting was related to a confrontation at a combination
New Year's Eve and birthday party for Nuggets player Kenyon
Martin at The Shelter nightclub.

died Tuesday in Atlanta. He was 49. He changed this struggling

became one of the first Internet companies to go public, a few

considerable challenges, but Mr. Betty pushed the company into
new businesses.

Notable deaths this week in history...

In 1919, Theodore Roosevelt, the 26th United States President,
died at the age of 60.
In 1953, country singer and songwriter Hank Williams died at
the age of 29.
In 1974, Tex Ritter, country music singer and songwriter,
died at the age of 68.
In 1998, entertainer and US Congressman Sonny Bono, was
killed in a skiing accident. He was 62.
