Baby Cookie Monster Toys Sold with DVD at Wal-Mart
Recalled for Choking Hazard
WASHINGTON, D.C. - The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Com-
mission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today
announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer
product. Consumers should stop using recalled products
immediately unless otherwise instructed.
Name of Product: Baby Cookie Monster Plush Toys
Manufacturer: The Betesh Group of New York, NY
Hazard: The small felt fabric cookie attached to the
plush toy’s hand can be removed easily and ingested by
young children, posing a choking hazard.
Incidents/Injuries: No injuries or incidents have been
reported.
Description: This recall involves the Baby Cookie Monster
plush toy packaged with certain Sesame Beginnings Make
Music Together DVDs. The blue plush toy has a small, felt
fabric cookie attached to its hand. The plush toy and DVD
are packaged in a yellow and green box with the words
“Sesame Beginnings” and “Make Music Together” printed on
the front. The product is labeled for children ages 6
months and up.
Sold: Exclusively at Wal-Mart stores nationwide from
March 2006 to July 2006 for about $15.
Manufactured in: China
Remedy: Using scissors, consumers should immediately
remove the felt cookie and its connecting thread from
the plush toy. Once detached, the felt cookie and thread
should be disposed of immediately.

Recalls Climbing Equipment Due to Fall Hazard
WASHINGTON, D.C. - The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Com-
mission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today
announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer
product. Consumers should stop using recalled products
immediately unless otherwise instructed.
Name of Product: Carabiners used for climbing
Importer/Distributor: Petzl America, of Clearfield, Utah
Hazard: These carabiners have a green button that acts as
a safety mechanism to prevent unlocking. The recalled
carabiners can unlock unexpectedly without pressing the
green button, posing a fall hazard.
Incidents/Injuries: None reported.
Description: The recall involves the M34 BL Am’D Ball-Lock
and M36 BL William Ball Lock carabiners with metal locking
sleeves. Carabiners with batch number between 06076 and
06178 are included in the recall. The batch number is
engraved on the spine of the carabiner. The recall does not
include Ball Lock carabiners having a plastic locking
sleeve.
Sold at: Petzl dealers nationwide from March 2006 through
July 2006 for about $13 for the Am’D model and about $17
for the William model.
Manufactured in: United States
Remedy: Consumers should stop using the recalled cara-
biners immediately, and contact Petzl America to have
their carabiners inspected and to receive a free
replacement, if necessary.

Dux Interiors Protective Mattress Covers Recalled
for Fire Hazard
The following product safety recall was voluntarily con-
ducted by the firm in cooperation with the CPSC. Consumers
should stop using the product immediately unless otherwise
instructed.
Name of Product: Protective Mattress Covers (PMC)
Importer: Dux Interiors Inc., of New York, N.Y.
Hazard: The terry cloth PMCs, which were made to fit over
the Dux top pads, do not meet the federal standard for
flammability under the Flammable Fabrics Act. They pose a
risk of burn injury to consumers if exposed to smoldering
or burning cigarettes.
Incidents/Injuries: No incidents or injuries have been
reported.
Description: The recalled PMCs are natural-colored terry
cloth made of 100 percent cotton, and come in twin, full,
queen, and king sizes to cover top pads made by Dux.
Sold at: PMCs were available solely through Dux-owned
stores and licensed outlets from January 1999 through
April 2006. The PMC was provided at no additional cost
to each customer who purchased a Dux mattress pad and
mattress set.
Manufactured in: Portugal
Remedy: Consumers should immediately stop using the re-
called PMCs and discard them. Dux Interiors is directly
contacting consumers who received PMC covers with their
mattress purchases.
