Muhammad Ali defeated almost every top Heavyweight in his era, 
an era which has been called the Golden Age of Heavyweight 
boxing. He won the World Heavyweight Boxing championship three 
times, and won the North American Boxing Federation champion-
ship as well as an Olympic gold medal. He was a masterful self-
promoter, and his psychological tactics before, during, and 
after fights, were very effective. It was his supreme skill, 
however, that made him the most famous athlete who ever lived.
