I'll Keep Listening!
I have been reading the Angel stories and know I have always
had Guardian Angels. Many times they have guided me to
safety. November 10, 2006 will always stay with me as the
closest I have ever come to death. If it had not been for
my Angels telling me to try my brakes, I would have either
been seriously injured or killed. I had my brakes worked on
and had all 4 rotors and pads replaced the week before. I
had not even driven 100 miles and my brakes started making
sounds like when they are going bad. I usually take a
commuter bus to work but because of the Veterans' Day
Holiday the buses were running on a very limited schedule
and I drove in to work. I had told my office manager
earlier that day that I needed to take my car back to the
shop because they were not sounding right and I left work
early that day. I was driving down the highway and the
noise the brakes were making started getting louder and
louder. I was driving on a 55 mph road. I was getting
close to the off ramp onto Interstate 95 and I kept hearing
the noise and voices in my head saying, "Check your brakes,
check your brakes." I put my foot on the brake and it kept
going until it was all the way to the floor – I had NO
brakes. Instead of “freaking out” the voices in my head
gave me instructions…pull off to the shoulder, put the car
in neutral, let it coast to a stop, put on your emergency
brake. After I had put my car in park I fell apart and
cried for about 10 minutes. Had it been a normal day there
would have been heavy traffic and I may have not only hurt
myself but someone else. Had I not tried my brake before
the off ramp I would have slammed into the retaining wall
head-on. I for one will keep listening when my Angels speak
to me!
